Welsh Lovespoons

Welsh Lovespoons

The giving of Lovespoons is an ancient tradition in Wales. They are given as a symbol of love and affection by courting couples, or to the Bride and Groom on their Wedding Day or on Anniversaries. Nowadays they are also sometimes given by the Happy Couple to their guests as Favours, to give thanks and act as a souvenir of the Wedding day. They also make lovely Christening or Birthday gifts.

The oldest surviving Lovespoon dates from the 17th Century, however their symbols date back much further.
